Once again Chepstow Harriers invite you to take part in the Tintern Trot a scenic 6mile (approx) multi terrain race. Route description can be found below.

There are prizes for the first 3 Ladies, the first 3 Men and age category prizes dependent upon who turns up. Every runner gets a free pint or special soft drink of their choice.

Entries:
There are 3 ways that you can enter:
    1.Online entry will be available
    2.Postal entry form will become available from this website
    3.Enter on the day.

The entry fee for pre-race-day entries is £5 for affiliated club runners and £7 for unaffiliated runners. On race day the entry fees are £6 and £8 respectively.

The route will be the same as previous years. Although the Anchor Inn is currently closed the start and finish will still be in the adjacent field. Race headquarters will be the Village Hall at the other end of the field (as they were for Offa’s Orror). The Royal George Hotel across the road will be supplying the free pints. Parking: You can use the Anchor car park, as well as the Abbey car park (next to the river). You may also use other parking in Tintern. Also, weather permitting, we will be using the centre of the field for the overflow.

ROUTE

Starting from the playing field adjacent to The Anchor Inn in Tintern (NP16 6TE), the route crosses the Wye on the old railway bridge and then follows the river for about a mile. It then climbs up through the woods (about 600ft!) to reach Offa’s Dyke path, going north along the path for a mile or so. At the 3 way post the route goes down past HAPPA, and then turns left back along the lane to rejoin the outward route and back to the field.
